A durable duck egg blue Shetland wool gilet with an aubergine velvet inner Nehru collar.
The hardy Shetlands are islands to the north of Scotland, famous for Shetland wool and knitwear. Shetland sheep are the smallest of their species and are believed to have evolved from the Northern European sheep, probably brought to the islands about 1,000 years ago by the Vikings. The wool is warm, strong, soft and durable and the finest that any British sheep breed produces from these small and gutsy creatures.
The Monte Cristo gilet is an adventurous gilet which we designed in this heavier weight Shetland lambswool from Abraham Moons Mill in Yorkshire. In a lovely soft duck egg blue colour with a soft aubergine cotton velvet inner Nehru collar. This gilet adds a new thickness, texture and colour to our collection. A great everyday gilet for outdoor life – ideal for country pursuits, weekends out of town, country pubs or worn as a substitute to a coat. Ideal for the blue-eyed chap …….
