Interview with Sir Ludovic Shaw Stewart of Ardgowan Estate
In December we visited Ardgowan Estate on the banks of the River Clyde in Scotland to find a huge fan of our Guillotine England Gilets. The estate has been in the hands of the Shaw Stewart family for over 600 years. The current owner Sir Ludovic Shaw Stewart takes his responsibility to safeguard the estate for future generations seriously and as such spends most of his waking hours promoting the Estate. He was kind enough to spare a few minutes to talk about why the Club Gilet works for him and his busy lifestyle.
My Gilet is great for formal and informal occasions
This includes using the house as a venue for weddings, photo shoots, private dinner parties, drinks receptions, celebrations, and product launches to name a few. The house found fame last year as the set location for Ordeal by Innocence, a three-part Agatha Christie period drama featuring Bill Nighy that hit our screens over the Easter break.
As you can imagine, Sir Ludovic spends as much time indoors and outside and needs quality clothing that will help him get on with his day. He first received a Guillotine England Club Gilet as a gift from his mother 5 years ago and has worn it regularly ever since. He loves that fact the fact he can wear them as both day wear and nightwear and for both formal and informal occasions. As you can see in the video, in the depths of winter he wears his Gilet over a T-shirt and under a jacket. The high Nehru collar hiding the T-shirt from view.
If you are looking for a country house venue for your wedding, 50th Birthday party or even to film your next commercial then look no further. Ardgowan is the perfect destination for a large does of Scottish Hospitality and of course, it is only 45 mins from Glasgow Airport. If you’re lucky and you own one of our Gilets, you can keep yourself warm, whilst looking smart or casual depending on the occasion.
